In addition to our regular Adoration schedule, an overnight Adoration is available at St. Bernard every second Friday of the month from 6 p.m. through Saturday morning at 7 a.m. Spend five minutes or the whole night with our Lord. If you are interested in covering an hour, please email Raul here.
Eucharistic Adoration is quiet time with God really present in the Eucharist. It is a time to take a break from the constant noise of the world. It is a time to speak with God in a very real way.
There are many things that you can do during Adoration: pray the rosary, read Scripture or other spiritual writing, talk to God about your life, or just sit in silence. The time begins with exposition of the Eucharist in the monstrance, and typically with the singing of the O salutaris Hostia, a hymn composed by St. Thomas Aquinas for the Feast of Corpus Christ. Adoration ends with Benediction, which includes the singing of Tantum ergo, another hymn by St. Thomas Aquinas, followed by a prayer, a blessing by the priest with the Eucharist in the monstrance, and the reciting of the Divine Praises. Benediction ends when the Eucharist is reposed in the tabernacle.
Come join us for these special times which are a significant part of the history of Catholic prayer.
