4K Program

As children enter our 4K program at Watertown Catholic School, children will learn to strengthen their social, academic, and emotional development. They will build on their fine and gross motor skills. The 4K students will take part in the Catholic Mass, physical education, and music during the week. The 4K classroom provides an environment for children to explore, gain sense of self, play with peers, and build self-confidence. We focus on all areas of learning through hands-on learning activities and play. Children pay attention to what they are interested in, we then plan themes and projects to help children expand their knowledge and skills in the various areas of interest. Children gain a deeper understanding of a subject when they can make connections across several content areas. This kind of deeper, interconnected learning helps prepare children for kindergarten by providing a strong foundation that is infused daily with religion, literacy, math, science and social/emotional learning in a nurturing environment. This strong foundation helps to develop the whole child in 4K as well as prepares them for learning in upcoming years.
