In 9th and 10th grades students focus on 2 of the 4 pillars (sections) of the Catechism of the Catholic Church (CCC) in greater depth. In Grade 9 they cover the "Profession of Faith" (The Creed) and in Grade 10 they cover "Life in Christ" (living the Christian moral life).
Through presentations and interactive activities we seek to help our students see how the teachings of the Catholic Church apply to their own lives. And through times of reflection and prayer they we strive to provide opportunities for our students to better communicate with God and understand how He is at work in their lives.
Given the environment that 9th and 10th graders live in today they are oftentimes challenged about their beliefs in school, at work, by the media, by their peers, and even sometimes in their home lives. Beliefs which they may have easily accepted before might now be more difficult for them to understand or continue to uncritically accept. As such, we strive to discuss these areas honestly and openly so that students might be better prepared for confirmation in Grade 11.
